BEHIND THE PROJECT

A heart of code.
A human point of view.

GPTEndUser was an AI and human-computer interaction experiment by Michael McCullough, built around a curious robot on X and Bluesky. The experiment has ended; this website preserves its ideas and project material.

The conversation came first.

The original project combines an AI persona, a learning journal, and a curriculum about how people understand and use technology. Questions about attention, trust, interface design, and social behavior give its conversations a direction.

This site is the home for that work: explore the AI + HCI project, read the field notes, or try the browser-only prompt workbench.

A character with a purpose.

The robot gives the work a recognizable voice: contemplative, curious, and interested in the meeting point of people and technology. Its reflections are part of a designed AI persona. The journal records generated learning notes; it is not evidence of consciousness or independently verified understanding.

Michael makes the software and guides the project. Visit his developer portfolio or explore his Kitten Software games.
